I first requested a refinish of my hardwood floor that had been covered with carpet for over 30yrs and I washed on my hands & knees apparently after all that washing I ruined the floor. Jim sanded a section & showed me one side would be dark & other side lighter even if he were to stain it. I then asked could you possibly replace the floor, he called wood distributor and went out there picked up wood while crew was cleaning & preparing the floor for installation. Thompson Flooring did an AMAZING JOB! I have a single family house in Wooster Square that was built in 1890 and although I just moved in one year ago, I was told that the floors are the originals from when the house was built. They had a beautiful brown finish with a reddish tint, but over the years several spots were completely worn down. The previous owners told me they had people come out for estimates and tell them it was impossible to replicate the finish without drstroying the integrity of the floor itself so they never got it done. Mr Thompson came out and offered a quote no problem. I was expecting it to look different which would have been fine, but when I came back it looked identical to the original color I had. Hired Thompson floors to refinish some old floors in a home I just bought. They were under carpeting for years and looked in poor shape. They nailed down some spots that were a little buckled, then sanded and applied three coats of polyurethane. 4 days later, we were walking on them and they looked AMAZING!
